Eight Spring Shoe Picks Under $50

With the weather beginning its transition from Winter to Spring, it’s time to start transitioning your moon boots over to warmer weather appropriate options.  I have compiled some choices that range from weekend wear, to work wear and basically everything in between.

You may very well be concerned about the fact that I did not add any booties…I know that this is a shocker to some.  No worries, I will continue to wear mine pretty much all year long, but, always like to have other options.

One – Leopard Loafers – I love the classic look of these loafers.  Leopard is a great neutral option, and will really spruce up any outfit.

Two – Backless Loafers – Backless loafers are really in right now, and would be awesome with a dress, skirt, wide leg pants…really anything.

Three – Slide Sandals – These sandals are a very casual option that are perfect paired with cutoff shorts, or a sun dress.

Four – Slide Sandals – These are a great pair to just throw in your bag to pop on at a moments notice.  I love that they’re understated, but, functional too.

Five – Slide Sandals – Again, another great pair of sandals.  I love the design of the material that goes over the top of the foot too.

Six – Two Piece Ballet Flats –  I think that these flats are a great workwear option.  They pair well with slacks, dresses, and skirts.

Seven – D’Orsay Closed Toe Espadrille Wedges –  Wedges are just super fun.  I see these pairing really well with a maxi dress.

Eight – Ankle Strap Espadrille Wedges – I am really loving the ankle strap on this pair!  I may need a pair in each color.

Which pair is your favorite?

Transitioning Your Winter Wardrobe on a Budget

Cardigan | Tank | Jeans | Bag | Shoes

Some days I really wish that I could just wear jeans and sneakers to work.  Know what I mean?  I feel my best when I’m comfortable and keeping it casual is my jam. If you’re someone that loves casual wear, and are looking to transition your Winter wardrobe into your Spring wardrobe without spending a ton of cash, these pieces are for you!

I am in love with these jeggings because they hug in all the right places, have incredible stretch, and flatter any figure.  I can’t say that they’re necessarily budget friendly because that’s subjective, but, $50 for a pair of good jeans is worth it to me.  Pair these leggings with these fun sneakers gives the outfit a little something extra.  These sneakers are comfortable and on SALE to boot!  Helllloooooo BOGO!  You can’t beat that!

Target has such an awesome selection of cardigans with matching (or mismatching if that’s your thing) tanks.  They wear well, wash well, and don’t break the bank!

My newest favorite piece is this bag by Madewell.  Never in my life did I think I would love any brand other than Coach.  I was SO wrong!  This bag is ginormous, has a versatile canvas material that goes well with just about any outfit, and the price point is right where I like it; affordable!

Are you ready to transition your wardrobe into Spring?

Black Friday Deals Roundup

I am definitely not a huge fan of Black Friday shopping (the crowds tend to bring out the worst in me lol), but, sometimes the deals just can’t be beat any other time of the year.  I have compiled a list of my favorite stores that currently have a sneak peak of the items that will be featured for their Black Friday deals.  Honestly this is a huge undertaking to include every single Black Friday deal so I have compiled a handful of my favorite spots to shop frequently.  Without further adieu, here are links to my favorite Black Friday deals!

Target

This is pretty much a no-brainer for all of us.  Any place that provides a one stop shop is always a good place in my book.  The offers range from household items, electronics, and toys so there is literally going to be at least one item for everyone in your family to choose from.

QVC

Honestly QVC is pretty similar to Target, in my opinion.  They offer such an array of items and I plan to compile gift guides specifically for QVC since it’s pretty hard to narrow down the options.  I think we can all appreciate killer deals that are also met with the option to make 6 payments so that we can gift quality items without breaking the bank all once.

Nordstrom

If you’re a Nordstrom Fan like me, you won’t want to miss this!  We’re talking 60% off people!  I linked the women’s sale above, but, here is the men’s, kids, home, and beauty.  All I can say is, why doesn’t money grow on trees?!?

Old Navy

Old Navy always has some killer deals and I love that they’re offering some new discount all week long!

Zappos

50,000 items up for grabs…need I say more?

I’d love to hear if you have plans to go Black Friday shopping!  What’s your favorite place to go?

Ponte-Knit Pants and Wide Brimmed Hats

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 (similar)

Don’t get me wrong, I love to wear leggings and definitely wish I could wear them on the daily.  Unfortunately, I can only get away with so much at work before I get the stink eye for wearing items that can be considered loungewear.  This means I have to seek out pieces that are work appropriate and still comfortable.

Ponte-Knit pants are definitely a great alternative to those stretchy works of wonder while still keeping it work appropriate!  They are sleek, stretchy, and have the feel of thick yoga pants.  Not that I do extraneous activities at work, but, I’d pick these pants over traditional slacks any day.  Bonus tidbit, if you’re self-conscious about anything on the lower half of your body, these pants are very forgiving and flattering to all body shapes!  I paired these pants with a simple black tank top, a boyfriend sweater (to cover the bum), and this super fun wide brimmed hat!  This outfit is super comfortable and the sweater is an awesome way to keep warm during the next few months, or, if you work in a chilly office (like me) this is a great option to keep warm.

Have you tried Ponte pants before?

Budget Friendly Fall Shoe Picks

Clearly I have a shoe problem…one I’m willing to endure.  I think the reason why I’ve always been a shoe fan is the fact that no matter what changes occur in my life (and my body) my size never changes, and some pairs feel like “home” to me.

The other day a co-worker asked about Fall shoe options that needed hit a few must have items on her list:

  1. Budget friendly.
  2. Work appropriate options.
  3. Casual options.
  4. Are not boots/booties….this is just blasphemy I tell you!  I am biased though and that’s okay!

I came up with a few options that I am happy to say fit within the guideline of the must have items.  Let me say first off that budget friendly means something different to everyone.  For me, budget friendly is Target and Payless Shoe Source (both of which have some pretty great options – you just have to know what you’re looking for, for quality purposes).  The saying, “you pay for what you get” is absolutely true in most cases.  I can honestly say that I have not been disappointed in any Target shoe picks (in my experience).

Below you will find my top 5 favorites that are all incredible dupes for high end options.  All of the Target finds are under $30 which is super budget friendly and the quality of the brands has been pretty tried and true for me.  All options range from casual to work wear appropriate to include a neutral palette – leopard is definitely a neutral and pairs well will just about any pop of color.  Loafers of any sort are really in right now and they have such a classic design that it would behoove you to grab a pair or two.  All shoe picks below would be great for a capsule wardrobe if that’s something you’re into because you can literally pair them with just about anything you have in your closet.

Of course, I can’t leave out my Chuck’s (seen above).  Although these are not sold at Target, I couldn’t leave them out of the mix.  They are such a classic sneaker and can be dressed up/down.  I have 5 different pairs and am constantly having to talk myself out of buying another pair…I’m not always successful haha.  Again though, my feet aren’t growing anymore and I can justify filling my closet with shoes that will last me as long as I need them to.  Although Chuck’s are not considered a work appropriate shoe in most cases, for desk related positions these could be a sensible option when paired with a pair of skinny slacks, button-down shirt, and cozy sweater.  I love the laid back feel of Chuck’s.

one | two | three | four | five

There are truly so many options to choose from and when you’re keeping things budget friendly, I feel strongly that Target is the way to go.  They always release dupes that are darn near identical to high end brands, they have tons of comfortable options, and they offer some timeless options as well.

Where are some of your favorite places to shop for budget friendly finds?

Cozy Fall Days

Car Coat | Tee | Jeans | Booties

Happy Monday!  This weekend was slow and steady, and I loved every minute of it!  The plans we made didn’t happen so we took advantage of our fireplace and binge watched movies with the kids during the day, then our favorite shows after the kids went to bed – one of my favorite things to do when the leaves begin to turn and the air becomes crisp and chilly.

There is something so special about Fall in Washington and I am loving sweaters and cardigans more this year than I every have before.  Honestly, I’m not even mad about it.  This is the perfect addition to any wardrobe and comes in a few different colors – the only thing I wish it had was pockets.  That being said, it wasn’t a deal breaker when I spotted it.  Pair this beauty with a simple tee, skinny jeans (with rolled cuffs, of course), your favorite booties, and you’re good to go!

What are some of your favorite Fall staples to wear?
